Environmental Journalism Awards

On June 5th, 2008, the winners of the Second Far Eastern Journalists Contest “Alive Taiga” were announced during a press conference in the Arseniev Museum in Vladivostok. The first Journalists Award was launched in 2006 by five initiators: the Phoenix Fund, WWF-Russia, Wildlife Conservation Society, Union of Ecological Press-Clubs of the Russian Far East and Primorsky Department of Federal Nature Use Service, in order to attract more attention to nature conservation issues. Educational Materials

Phoenix develops awareness-raising educational materials (field-guides, booklets, colorful posters, and CDs) with information about rare and endangered species of the Primorsky region and then distributes them among schools, eco-centres and summer camps. Продолжить

Ecological Holidays, Festivals, Contests

Since 2000, the Tiger Day Festival has been the highlight of the Primorsky region. It was founded by Phoenix and takes place thanks to the financial support from our foreign and local partners and sponsors. Продолжить

Seminars for Teachers

Beginning from 2006, we annually gather our educational coordinators for a pedagogical seminar. It lasts several days and its objective is to unite like-minded people, acquaint the beginners with the affair, share experiences with each other, learn about new interactive methods of work on the topics of “Nature of Primorsky region”, “Amur tiger” and “Far Eastern leopard”, get familiar with new Phoenix’s educational materials, and of course, have a good time in a friendly atmosphere. Summer Camps for Schoolchildren and Students

In 2003 Phoenix organized a summer eco-camp, “Young Forester’s School”, for children of two northern districts: Krasnoarmeisky and Pozharsky, where forest management is the major income of the local people. Продолжить
