A summer camp “Young foresters’ school” for 12- 15 year old kids of Pozharsky, Krasnoarmeisky, Lazovsky districts of Primorye was carried out in Lukyanovka village, Northern Primorye, for the period July 01 – 13, 2003.
During two weeks children were studying the principals of forestry, environmental protection measures, and safety rules in emergency nature conditions and they got a basic knowledge on the main activities in the forestries. Teachers, biologists and state inspectors coordinated the school and worked with the kids.
Every day the kids had several classes that covered the following themes: “Forestry and its activities”, “Value of the forest”, Primorye forests characteristics”, “Nursery farms”, “Trees planting”, “Forest care”. The knowledge of the kids will be useful in eco-teams activities and school-forestries.
On July 13, 2003 on a farewell ceremony the kids were granted the name of a young forester and late in the evening all of them gathered around farewell fire.
