Poacher Сaught in LWR

Right after snowfall on March 6 the Border team of Kedrovaya Pad Nature Reserve nabbed a suspected poacher. The team was on a regular foot patrol along the borders of Leopardovy Wildlife Refuge near Ovchinnikovo village when the team members found human footprints and dog tracks. Kedrovaya Pad Nature Reserve Celebrates 95th Anniversary!

On October 7th 2011, Kedrovaya Pad Nature Reserve (NR) turned 95 years old. It is one of the oldest protected areas in Russia. Since its creation, the size of the protected area has significantly increased, from 4,500 ha (in 1916) to 18,000 ha (1956). Продолжить

“Go-anywhere inspectors” protect Amur leopards

On July 6th, 2011 with a generous support from Thomas Plant and GlobalGiving Foundation the Phoenix Fund purchased a quad bike «Yamaha Grizzly 550» and handed it over to Kedrovaya Pad Nature Reserve. The new ATV will allow the law-enforcement officers to patrol the most impassible territories of Kedrovaya Pad and Leopardovy protected areas. Продолжить
