Poacher Сaught in LWR

Right after snowfall on March 6 the Border team of Kedrovaya Pad Nature Reserve nabbed a suspected poacher. The team was on a regular foot patrol along the borders of Leopardovy Wildlife Refuge near Ovchinnikovo village when the team members found human footprints and dog tracks. Environmental Journalism Awards

On June 5th, 2008, the winners of the Second Far Eastern Journalists Contest “Alive Taiga” were announced during a press conference in the Arseniev Museum in Vladivostok. The first Journalists Award was launched in 2006 by five initiators: the Phoenix Fund, WWF-Russia, Wildlife Conservation Society, Union of Ecological Press-Clubs of the Russian Far East and Primorsky Department of Federal Nature Use Service, in order to attract more attention to nature conservation issues.
